Front end work update 900

I’d rather R&R a transmission plus hammer a nail through my tongue than replace a strut.

It looks like FCPG was off today. There is a bushing that sits on top of the strut mount that I want to replace. It did not come with the kit. A local dealer parts counter should be open Sat morn. One side looks more worn than the other. Stopped by Autozone and found a tie rod end press tool. They loan them but for $10 I decided to buy it because a couple more 940s are waiting in line. Worked great. Ball joint came off easy with a fork tool. I had to cut away the rubber to get good metal to metal contact. The old insert is shot. The new Sacks Advantage, smaller diameter rod, doesn’t seem to have much resistance to up and down movement. Hopefully it will when it is vertical.

Well one side is off and I ended the day trying to get enough of the strut insert rod through the strut mount to put it back together.

Famous last words, "the second one will go easier". And I’d gladly eat extra salty potato chips with that nail.
