Radio Codes on Older 240's? 200

Hi Guys,

Newbie here hailing from Vancouver Canada. Just recently got my hands on a low mileage '85 240 and have busy with all sorts of repairs and such. Among my recent projects was a new battery. Once that was dropped in, my radio decided to no longer work. I was told I needed a "radio code" for it and that I could get that from Volvo service. My question is, is there actually a code for something this old without a digital radio display? Would it be something ridiculous like Toyota where you put the key in accessory, close the door twice, beep the horn, smash the console and then program your radio (I'm embellishing a bit here of course)?

-Todd
