Light Bulbs: Climate Control Unit 940 - 1993/4 900

Dear Fellow Brickboarders,

May this find you well. Does anyone know the Volvo Part number - and any Radio Shack equivalent - for the two bulbs that light the climate control unit *CCU) faceplate?

Each bulb is mounted in a light blue plastic plastic holder. The bulbs are about 1/8" wide, and about 1/4" (6 mm) long). The bulb wires are wrapped around the holder (not soldered). When the holder is inserted lamp down into the opening in the top of the CCU (just behind the faceplate) - and the holder is turned 90 degrees using a small, flat-blade screwdriver - the wires contact brass strips, which supply current to the bulb.

I note that in the FAQs, there is no coverage of replacing these bulbs. Indeed, even in the Volvo Green book (edition covering cars made through mid-1994) the diagram of these bulbs is for what seems to be a earlier version. In this earlier version, the bulb-holder is tubular.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

With every warm, best wish for Happy Holidays - and a Good, Healthy New Year - I remain,

Yours faithfully,

spook
