Well here it goes, I have been involved with several other groups and it seems that the members are very quiet, I do hope that this one is different!!!!
I live in IDAHO, I am a redneck I am not a Hick, although that would be much better than someone calling me a YUPPY!! I own a very old school custom chopper that I built myself, I am not one of though I built this because I paid the local shop, I BUILT IT every nut, bolt, and my BLOOD and sweat. I also own a catamaran; Sol-Cat 1972 and I love to sail in the x-treem. I am also a Ham as thoughs of you in the know can see from my call sign... I was introduced to Volvo completely by accident :) This guy owed me some $$. Well I took this car very reluctantly and quickly sold it, Very quickly I might add. Since then I have owned 26 140 and 240 style Volvos. This particular 1969 145 has come and gone from my fleet 7 times and I only counted it once. I have recently sold off all but two of them. I also saved a 1976 242 for a V8 swap. My wife loves the 242 but would like a little more power:) the V8 is all redneck:) I am in the process of restoring the 1969 I am keeping it all stock other than I have recently acquired a 140 style 4 speed with overdrive, It is going in the car. I feel kind weird about restoring a station wagon as that is what it is, 145 sounds better. But as I said the car keeps coming home so I feel like it has claimed me. Besides I think it will look great pulling the cat to the lake. This is my first time visiting this sight as I was instructed by my local parts house "IPS" to come take a look. So far it looks pretty cool and I look forward to being involved. I will post some picks of the 145 in progress if anyone is interested, just ask :) I also have a line on some hard to find parts 140, 240, also some 160 style if you cant find one, let me know I might have it or know someone local who does...
