Car runs better with Fuel Pressure regulator disconnected. 200

I've been having trouble with idle/hesitation problems. I decided its probably the FPR so I disconnected and plugged both vacuum connections. The car idles perfect now and does not hesitate. I believe the diaphram in the FPR is leaking (fuel smell in the vacuum hose). Will I damage anything if I run it like this for a couple of days until I recieve my new one?
