A direct swap, possible..but in reality, probably not.

Compatablity of OD's to tranny's is a function of the spline number and shape of the tranny's output shaft. M41 J ODs and some J ODs on Early M46's had the same spline configuration. These would allow a direct swap without effort.

IF not the same, sun gear and Sprag can be exchanged betweent he OD's to create compatablity.

My question is why swap the OD out. Unless internal damage has occured (unit would probably be noisy), the majority of problems with ODs are electrical first then actuating piston O-rings.
