idling solenoid valve engine rewiring b21a 200 1981

I am rewiring my b21a motor; my recent battery light trouble has taken me here.

There is an idling solenoid on the intake, which goes to a red/blue wire on the grey plug. Green book says to check for 30 ohms from the connector on the top to either the valve body or the manifold. Since this closes a bypass channel on the carburetor, it reduces fuel supply and engine run-on.

I've been getting engine run-on, so maybe the embarassing condition of the wiring caused the valve to not function. I've basically had no oil pressure light, and a rerouted ignition/coil wire. Everything was frayed out behind the oil trap box.

So far I have everything labelled and a new negative battery cable put on. The positive from alternator to starter and starter to battery is pretty good (didn't go by the oil trap). This car had major pcv problems until I fixed it 2 summers ago.
