surge in acelaration 200 1993

I have a 93 240 non turbo and I am haveing a problem. When I start to accelerate from a start, it has a surgeing feel to it. Like it is hesitating. It seems tat when the car warms up or is at speed it doesn't do this anymore. I do not have a rpm gauge so, I can't tell you what it is doing. what are something I should check besides cap, rotor, plug wires and plugs. I just bought the car so, I don't know that much about it as far as detailed maintenance goes.
