Ambient Temp Gauge / Sensor 900 1993

The other day at a pick-n-pull yard I found an ambient temperature gauge. I took the gauge and looked for the sensor (I had a vague notion it would be under the front bumper, on the driver's side - I didn't really know what I was looking for, and didn't find it).

Does anyone know exactly where the sensor mounts? I checked my wiring diagram, which gave me an idea about what the sensor looks like, but didn't really make clear where it resides...
