240 vs 740 rear springs interchangable? 700 1990

I was given 240 wagon rear springs. I end up installing them in my "sagging rear end" 740, so far it was a litle tricky to install them
I noticed they (240) are a bit bigger in circunference diameter ,and same thickness I think.
well it raised it up almost 1.5 inches wich I liked ,cause trailer hitch cames next .

my question is will they stay put?, meaning are they going to pop out on me in the highway?....

any one please advice...
