Rear valance question 200

The rear valance (plastic piece that wraps around the rear of car beneath bumper) on my 240 had a large chunk broken out of it when I got the car. Recently, I obtained another valance in what appeared to be good condition. Today, when getting ready to bolt it on the car, I noticed that one of the 1/2" long twin-finger mounting thingamabobs on the right side is totally missing. It is located behind the rear wheel well. Is it possible to cut the thingamabob from the old valance and use a product like JB Weld to attach it to the same location on the new valance? Or, is this simply an impossible fix? I'm thinking that if I don't have this piece present, that the valance will gap away from the body at this location. Thanks for any suggestions you can give!
