replace solonoid? 200 1990

You are getting ahead of yourself. Swen's maintainer has layed out the route you can follow to chase this problem down. Go after the overdrive relay.

A jumper is simply a short section of wire used to connect two points. In this case two spades on the relay.

Pull the glovebox out. Find the relay around the left hand corner of the opening. Unplug it. Look at the ends with the terminals. See the numbers beside the terminals? Make a small jumper wire and connect the terminals 15 and 87. Use a small diameter wire and don't allow it to touch other terminals. Push it down against the base of the relay and then plug it back into the connector.

Go for a test drive and report back with the results.
