optional electrical equipment

Clean up your fuses, and inspect all to make sure they're intact.

Under each seat you should find a 2 wire connector, black and red- these are the wires to the seat heaters. See if they're plugged in securely. If they are unplug and test for voltage there.

If you get power, you'll have to probably disassemble the seat to get at the heater grids and repair or replace them.

If no power, you may have a connection problem in the switches in the center console.

The mirror heaters could have bad elements. Various parts dealers, online and over the counter, sell replacement glass with heater elements. FCP Groton carries them. If the switch lights up, it's probably the elements.

Your 240 should have intermittent wipers, though you can't adjust the time. If that's what you want, I can't help you. I don't think IPD's wiper relay for the 850/70 series can be made to work in a 240, though I would love to know how to do it if it could.

If your 6-second delay in the UP position of the wiper switch doesn't work, look for broken wires under the top cover of the column or possibly a bad relay. Should be the same relay at least back to the early 80's cars.
