Lowering/sport spring recommendations 140-160 1974

you could always use some stock car springs. i use them on my cars. they are dirt cheap around $10-$50 you will have to know stock pring rates and corner weights of the car to get the ride height and rate you want.

for an example on my 142 the stock rates were 90# rear #300 front. remeber that the motion ratio of the front is roughly a third of the spring rate. so a #300 pound spring is only 100 at the wheels.

im running #800 pound 9.5 inch springs in the front. they lower the car about an inch. they are about the limit for a strret car, itb cars use up to 1000#
in the rear i have 250# 11 inch springs witch also lower the car about an inch. they are way too harsh for most people but i like the way they feel.

another note about going to lower stiffer springs is to make sure the shocks are up to the job. if you were to use even off the shelf lowering springs and stock shocks the car would probably not handle that well.
