Installing struts, removing old bottom spacer?

Hi,

First post for me here, been lurking for a while.

I own a '93 940Turbo wagon.

I'm installing some tokico struts and ran into trouble. If I try to use the top spacer supplied the strut protrudes out the top of the strut housing so far that I cannot get the gland nut on. If I use only the bottom spacer the gland nut bottoms out and the strut is loose in the housing.

I called tech support and they told me to remove the original spacer in the bottom of my strut tube. The problem I have is I don't see a removable spacer, what I see in the bottom of the strut tube does not appear to be removable at all. I'll attach a picture. Is their something removable that I'm missing here?

Here's a link to a pic of my strut tube from the bottom:

Thanks in advance for your help,
Tim
