crank sensor replacement...... hints!!!!! 200

this'll be my first crank sensor replacement.........ever!

so, like a virgin on prom night i want to get it right the first time.

the suspect in question is a 92 240 non turbo wagon. the wifes!

things done already: i have cleaned, brushed and rinsed out the area where the sensor lives. i wouldn't eat off the surface but i wouldn't worry about nasties down the sensor hole either.

my hands are too large to have too much flexibility and from the passenger side i can not see or feel this sensor ....yet.

questions:

should i tackle this miscreant from above or below?
what tools will work best? 10mm socket? extensions, swivel, combo wrench

i have done the reading on the help sections but would more appreciate first hand in your face recent experiences with this job.

thanks
