De-tuning a B18 444-544

The manifold sounds good, Let me know.

I have my buddies looking out for governors. If I can score some, they are the cat's ass. The cruise control idea is a neat idea. I think some work off the count of a magnetic pickup unit that detects a speed variance and send an error correction signal to an actuater connected to the throttle arm. That may just be a wicked Pick and Pull solution.

O sure on the direct drive. Nice thing about using the tranny is the flange mated right to the driveshaft Actually a corresponding flange could be mounted on the other end of the driveshaft which mates to an adapter that will receive the rotor shaft of the head. The ST head could be mounted solid to the chassis and the engine and tranny on the standard volvo mounts. I see better, your rationale for using the clutch/ A 12.5 k head has a HEAVY rotor!!

Yes, a fine balance between planning and doing!!

Cheers

Mike
