eadlights not working - have read FAQ 900 1991

Hey guys,

I went to turn on my headlights and they wouldn't come on.

To be clear:
When the light switch is turned halfway the instrument cluster, sidelamps, everything else comes on.
When I turn it all the way, the headlights don't come on and all the interior lights go off.
The brights will work, but I have to hold it in position. With the brights on all the instrument cluster andinterior lights work.
The front fog lights don't work, but the rear ones do.

All my fuses are good, the FAQ has a few ideas:

bad K Relay, bad lamp failure relay, bad headlamp relay, bad dimmer switch, and bad headlamp ground connections.

Is the "K" Relay another term for bulb failure or headlamp relay? If I remove one of the turn signal bulbs and the bulb failure does not come on can I assume this relay is bad?

Also, I am not familiar with testing relays. When it refers to jumping two of the relay connections, is this simply putting a wire between the two.

Any other comments/tips would be appreciated

Thanks in advance,
Mike
