960 goes into neutral 900

While checking for excessive movement on the trans mount. It could be that the PNP switch is not positioned correctly. Volvo calls for a special alignment tool, but most go without it. When I did mine a few years ago, leave the ignition switch on and the trans in reverse, engine off of course. Make sure the car won't roll while you are under it. Adjust the switch to activate the reverse lights. That gets you there, at least in ball park. If any more adjustment is needed, it is very slight.
