Cross-Adjusting Carbs? 120-130

Err... what? I've never rear anything about cross-adjusting the two carb mixtures. I just have a standard B18-style one-piece manifold with none of those secondary butterflies or cross-over thiggies...

You know... that does make some sense... I had always assumed that when you lift the piston on a given carb, you were leaning out that carb, but with two carb, perhaps the second carb suddenly becomes responsible for the engine idle and if it is adjusted incorrectly then the car dies.

So... this would indicate that my forward carb - not my rear carb is too lean...?
