Inner tie rod end now too..? 700

I am halfway (literally) done changing my outer tie rod end and wondering if I should have bought the whole tie rod.
This has been really easy so far. Either all the nuts on this car were undertorqued while at Kruse Lucas, or I am one strong bugger. OF course, there's the possibility that everything came apart like it was supposed to, but that's not fun!

Anyway...
I've got maybe 1/16 inch motion along the length of the tie rod. It seems like the motion is coming from under the boot that covers the tie-rod to cam connection.

This does indicate I need to replace it, right? I don't think it should have any slop in it.

-Will

PS the boot was torn on the outer, so I was already going to change it.
