Wait a minute... 140-160

tim asked if 1.5 would be ideal. i was just pointing out how it wouldn't work with a b30. i think 1.8:1 is a good ratio too, just with the heavy stock rods and pistons or stock rods and some custom pistons he will not be able to lighten the rotating assembly signifagantly. the longer he increases the rod ratio the lighter the assembly will be , the more responsive it will be . also with the longer rods and shorter piston compresion hieght he will get less rod angularity and less piston rock. so he will get a better ring seal.

do you think the stock rods will be ok for a 400hp b30. i have bent stock rods in a b20 when my dizzy exploded and let the advance go all the way out. i put it into nuetral and let of te gas after only a couple of second. but bent the rods from that couple seconds of detonation. i think in tuning the motor he will see detonation atleast a couple of times.
