Alternator conversion... 100+ amp??? 120-130

So my AMP idiot light is burning bright red in my little '67 p220... regulator and battery check out just fine. Generator is the culprit at this point. in the coming months, I'll be putting in a decent (power hungry) stereo... yes, I'm in my 20's.... and a set of bumper mounted fog lamps... and overdrive and yada yada... anyway - I'm going to be doing the whole generator/alternator conversion and my concern is for the water pump + belt/tension... unlike the beautiful 240 series, this alternator will be running on 1 belt... I am looking to install a 100-130amp alternator... has anyone done this successfully? I read that it's hard on the water pump.... any thoughts?

Mike
