stupid question 700 1988

this might be a stupid question but.....here goes.

I was doing a poor mans tune up yeterday and was swaping parts between an older car that had a more recent tune up and a car I just acquired. Not sure when last tune up was but I failed emissions inspection.

i was swapping wires (lower resistence made newer car) cap and rotor .

while trying to get the better rotor off the distributor ( donor car ) the back lobe cracked off. so little by little the whole lobe cracked off cleanly before I finally got it off.

I didn't want to risk putting that into the newer car (survivor vechile).

low and behold the donor car still ran after buttoning her back up with the lobless rotor .

I will be selling the donor as solid trasportation /parts car shortly and I'm not keen in throwing more money effort into it.
