ANSWER replacing ball-joints 120-130

I would think that 75 ft-lb would be plenty. Are you sure you had the right
nut? Also, the pin of the ball joint should be pretty hard, so the threads
may not be damaged on it. Do you still have the old nut? If it is the same
thread (usually but not always) you could probably use it, if the pin is OK.
