weird weather problem? 120-130

ok, i'm in minneapolis and it's been chilly the last week or so, but just the last few days when i put it in reverse the tranny just spins until it warms up and then everything works fine?
does cold affect the clutch fluid? or am i looking at a bad cluch release bearing or clutch plate? i replaced the clutch this past summer when i did an engine swap so i know the clutch is new and all but; everything works normal when the old bird is warmed up but when she's cold she acts like a 41 year old grump!
