hatch wiring harness, ground replacement, easy hatch support method 240 wagon 200 1986

I replaced the hatch wiring harness, both sides, on my 240 wagon, 1986.

That was not a fun job.

I'll post some photos, so others doing this might know what to expect.

The biggest challenge was supporting the hatch, while the hinge was removed. I used a ratchet-strap and a 3/4 inch thick piece of wood to support the hatch, while I removed one hinge at a time. The hatch struts stayed in place to support the hatch. The piece of wood went between the hatch, and the trailing edge of the roof.

The ratchet on the strap made it easy to position the hinge during re-installation, and made this a one-person job.
