Towing a race car with the 960 900 1997

I think the towing specs for the '97 960 sedan is rated at class II (that is towing up to 3500lbs using a tongue weight of less than 300 lbs; I have a race car that weights about 2500 lbs and 1000lb four wheel trailer. Most of the towing will be on level freeways for not more than 200 miles once a month and I have no problem driving the rig 55mph. The car has an oem oil cooler in the radiator and an oem engine oil cooler at the oil filter.

Anyone have experience at doing this? Any advice appreciated. r should I go out and buy a used SUV? yuk!
