I have all the idiot lights working now. Some progress on the cluster dimmer and the fuel gauge.
It appears the ilumination dimmer switch has been bypassed and might be bad. The one lead on the switch is an input and is feed from the cluster circuit board. That wire looks to have been removed and attached right to the light string on the cluster.
The other two leads on the switch are tied together and appear to be outputs. One output should go to light string and the other goes back to the circuit board. That goes to the two pin connector in the circuit board and is a feed to dash lights over by the heater control.
I'm not sure if I can find some type of replacement for the cluster dimmer switch. If not I can just add a wire so the feed to the lights over by the heater controls work.
On the fuel gauge. I noticed that a nut was missing on the fuel gauge stud behind the circuit board. Odd in that someone had placed a C clip there instead. This wasn't allowing good contact with the circuit board when the outer nut was tightened. I added the nut cleaning all the contacts and nuts. Tested and the gauge still doesn't work. Not sure as yet how one can test a gauge. Going to research that a bit.
