Fuel pressure regulator and fuel economy 700 1986

Hello All:
I'm having long cranking first thing in the morning, but not too bad after that during the day. I suspect the Fuel Pressure Regulator has decided to go south after 199,995 miles.
I just bought a new one to replace the OEM 0 280 160 225 (2.5 bar). However, I also bought a used fuel pump from a reputable seller and he threw in a free Bosch FPR in the shipping box. However, it is the Bosch 0 280 160 226 (3.0 bar). I'm understanding that this means the 226 can hold higher pressure, and thus faster start up. BUT, I'm thinking that this will mean higher pressure during running and this might lower my fuel economy.
should I replace the 2.5 bar with the 3.0 bar? Or just stick to the OEM?
