940 has petrol smell in cabin 900 1995

Hi Bricksters,

Recently I noticed that after driving the car for a good 15 minutes and then when I am parked with the engine and a/c on, I can smell petrol fumes in the cabin. I have tried ignoring it but it becomes really overpowering. Once I drive off, the smell instantly goes away. I also noticed that when I exit the car when there are petrol smells, there seems to be a strong petrol smell outside the car but none from the engine. My mech says the a/c outside air outlet seals may be weak but I doubt it. Before I send the car to a/c shop and part with $$$, has anyone ever experienced this and what should I check beforehand. Thank you for any help.
