Thinking about getting a 68' 145S, what should I be thinking about 140-160 1968

I recently bought a 1974 145, and while it looked good, lots of stuff were shot:

-brakes & lines
-ball joints
-manifold gasket
-shocks
-lots of vacuum leaks
-water pump

SU carbs are famous for wearing out throttle shaft bushings. A company in Oregon, Ztherapy.com, sold me some rebuilts for my P1800.

Original distributors wear out and cause all kinds of stuff that you'd never think. On both my cars, I replaced the distributor with a solid state "123" ignition from Vintage Performance Developments. Now they both run smooth.
