Strut dust boots- mix and match.... 200

Photobucket

I am getting things in order before installing new strut cartridges and ball joints on a 1988 244.

I forgot to order dust boots with the rest of the parts. Going through my parts inventory this morning I found two dust boots that are in excellant condition. An elephant test reveals they are not prone to tearing- probably why I saved them and threw away their mates.

Any reason not to use them? How does the "bellows" one attach and stay in place on the top. Does it just stretch out and pull up on top of the gland nut after it is tightened?

Thanks

Randy
