Good memory, Dave.

I bought a used '78 245 about 20 years ago that would try to spin the steering wheel to the left as soon as the engine started. I was able to adjust it back to normal by the pinion adjustment you describe. (I found it in an old Haynes manual.)

To my knowledge, only the CAM rack has that adjustment. Till now I'd assumed it was a thing of the past, but that left turn bias sure sounds like it.
