I built a custom Windsor for one of my brothers in 1992. It was virtually identical to the 350 chevy in the bottom end with a 2.99" main. This one is looking like a stroker with 383 ci and about 400 hp which should still leave a fairly streetable engine. Plenty of performance parts are available for the 351 Windsor platform including some affordable crate motors.

The main reason for putting in a Ford over Chevy is the smaller section across the bell housing. I'm not a big fan of hammering clearance into the transmission tunnel to fit the Chevrolet bell housing, and the only other option is to strip the interior so I can plasma cut the floor tunnel out.
