Exhaust gasket(s) question (EDIT, add photo) 200 1993

Unless somebody has hacked that pipe=to=cat joint, you don't need that flat gasket in the 2nd IPD address. The ring/seal fits between the 2 "bell mouthed" ends and is held compressed in place by 2 Spin Flanges, each having 3 bolt holes — sort of like this crude graphic:

==cat pipe===( () )====front pipe===Non Turbo with 3-hole spin flanges and donut seal/gasket

If your spin flanges are rusted or missing, Volvo makes a replacement that opens up so it can fit over the pipe, similar to the NAPA versions shown below. Volvo PN is 8551977, $7.31 each from Tasca Volvo.

The NAPA (2-bolt) flanges in the pictures (732-1137) were $6.99 in 2006.
