Wire ,switch or something else? 200

When I cleaned the contacts on the starter the car would start fine.I would turn it on and off several times and it would always start.Only after driving the car for a long while would it then not start.Around Pa. it started ok from the hotel to the show field and few stops in between. But after the 200 plus mile trip no start. Is there something between the ignition switch but before the starter, closer to the steering wheel that may be the problem?I need to wait till the weekend to take things apart.Wher did you get your ignition switch? New or used?
