Where does the red wire go? 120-130

According to the diagram, the red wire connects to the + either on the alternator or the battery. I tried that, but the AMP light still stays on while the ignition is off.

I am sure many of those out there had already converted to single-wire alternators...what did they do about rewiring to keep the AMP indicator light still in function?

When worse comes to worse, I could always send my car to an auto electronics shop and whatever the cost I may need to pay them, I would consider it as an educational price.
