Adding another wire through the gear shift shaft 200 1985

Does your car have an m46?

I replaced the OD wires in my shifter (kind of a pain).

I found the easiest way was to take the entire shifter mechanism apart. You cannot get the wires through otherwise.

-There is a little screw that holds the piece of plastic that holds the shift knob. Be careful not to lose this when you take that part out.

-Driving out the pin that holds the shift shaft is a pain, but in the long run makes it easier.

-Make sure you also use flexible wire.

Hope this helps.
