Telltale shriek of the harmonic balancer

I had the telltale screech at start up, and more of the same in tight turns. Full left and full right steering induced screech confirmed the balancer was separating. Its a usefull diagnostic. One last test to remember is to make it screech, shut it down and carefully feel near the pulley to detect the dramatic heat produced. On went a new (used of course) pulley and new timing belt (new of course) and hood up to shut an hour and a quarter. Used my usual timing protocol, perfect 12 BTDC result Bruce ;)
