Transmission level and smoke...... 200

How much transmission fluid is there between "no register" on the stick, to "maximum full" on the stick? I recently flushed my automatic transmission in my 1990 240. One half of one quart brought it from "dry" to "max" on the dipstick.

Issue two: After the flush and honestly, drove 2 miles with easily 2 quarts too much in the trans., now it smokes from around the "Y" at the catalytic convertor. I cleaned it off to look almost new and dry, but it still smokes but a LOT less. Any ideas from you guys? I am embarassed but have broad shoulders, as my old dad used to say......thanks
