K cam 140-160 1970

The K cam is a smaller version of the D & comes in K-Jet B20E & F motors, it actual has effective timing figures similar to the C & will give you a bit more torque everywhere & possibly more fuel economy.

The D was 1st seen in the 130HP B18B rally package for 120's with dual springs. It does not work very well at all with stock single springs that have any more than a few thousand miles on them.

The Isky VV-61 is fairly similar too the K cam except it is ground on 108° lobe centres instead of the typical 111°, which can make it a tiny bit more torque depending on how it is degreed in. If you go this way, you can get the complete cam & kit from them.

The two big limiting factors on the B30A is the dogleg intake manifold will kill torque nearly everywhere & the exhaust ports are really bad. (55CFM vs 100+ Intakes). The K cam with stock springs is probably the best way to go BUT if you can get someone to grind whatever you want, a K or similar on the intake coupled with a larger low lift exhaust lobe would be better. (Dual pattern)

What 1st gear & diff ratio do you have?
