Is it OK to use a Transmission flush chemical before Dextron oil change?? 700 1992

Have been experiencing the dreaded 'Torque Converter Shudder' upon stopping with daughter's 92 740. I figure it is due for a tranny flush with new Dextron III.
I picked up a can of SeaFoam Tranny flush to add to the old tranny oil, drive a bit, then do the tranny flush via the return line with 8 quarts of new Dextron. The plan is to free up old gummed up seals, bands, passages, etc. before adding the new fluid.
Is this a good idea? should I just do the flush with the new Dextron alone? I know that it is supposed to free up things in the tranny also.
Let me know,
thanks,
el raidman
