M46 OD 700 1987

Use the Redline Racing ATF Type F, not the D4 or D6 ATF which is a Dextron substitute. About 50 cnets more a quart but better then the D4/6 stuff.

MTL has friction modifiers that may interfer with proper function of the OD.

Which bearings? Case ends or internal on the shaft?

If Case bearings, they must be shimmed to correct depth. One cannot automatically use the same shims as prior.

Is or was there a leak? Proper level when delivered? It holds a minimum of 2.4 qts.

One customer got a tranny/OD back with no fluid at all. Having given them 3 quarts of a synthetic. At least he didn't drive very far to find out the OD didn't work and didn't drive it until he found the no fluid condition and filled the tranny.
