Just griping 200 1989

Barely failed “smog test only” this year. ($51 + 1 free retest after “repairs”.)

Mechanic said its not so much as anything “wrong” it's just the specs have been tightened up--again. Got new oxy sensor, new cat, replaced rear muffler (it's the rear one in the 245 wagons) and tail pipe (together). The rear muffler did need replacing, I knew that, and shop gave me a discount to do both of them, (cat and muffler) at same time, so why not? The other muffler was ok. Installing the oxy sensor was a no brainer.

Total just about $400 parts and labor, (plus the $51 for the initial smog test, and will pay another $10 for the certificate, assuming it passes.)

Tomorrow back to retest at the smog place, wish me luck--*sigh*.

Just seems like another gimmick to keep the states’ governor in pocket spending money. Sometimes I feel like “keeping the state “green”" means just that, “green” in the governors’ pocket.

Well, I said I was griping!******
