Help identify my overdrive, and decide what to do with it. 120-130

Congrats!

The M41 only had two types of OD units. The D-type and the J-type. You have a D-type OD. It's easily ID by the solenoid valve on the passenager side.

Here's a cross-section look of a D-type:

Here's a J-type:

The M41 transmissions are pretty much bullet proof. OD are equal in quality, and very simple. I only play with the J-type, but I'm sure there are plenty of people here that will be able to help out.

I would change the piston O-rings and see how it works.

You can pull the greenbook and parts catalogues off here: http://www.volvoamazonpictures.se/

I like the parts catalogues myself because they show an exploded view of the part.
