Cam swap 140-160

You have to be fairly cunning to get the lifters out, and you MUST replace them.
If you are pulling the head that makes it easier but it is still usually pretty hard to get OEM Lifters out without dropping at least some of them into the pan.
Normally this is not too bad a deal UNLESS they don't reach the bottom of the pan. On one occasion I dropped one partway down in a B30 and when it finally fell the rest of the way it got hit by (and damaged) a #2 rodcap bolt/nut resulting in the rod cap opening up and allowing the piston to hit the inside of the head. This was a problem because it developed noise, heat and performance problems in late summer along I-10 in Arizona near the NM line. We ended up leaving the car in San Simón, Arizona, hitching a ride to Lordsburg, NM where we were able to catch a Greyhound bus which took us to El Paso, the nearest place where we could rent a car. Since we didn't live in the US at the time.......
