Should I replace the head gasket? 200 1988

That's a tough one. If you are just doing a quick swap, I wouldn't bother. Many of us have double that mileage and still have not done the Head Gasket.

With the Engine on a Stand, the only time you probably save is unbolting the Exhaust manifold.
If you are doing a mini rebuild, as you said, and you are tossing Money at engine, then maybe you want to do the top end gaskets as well.

I was absolutely no help.
