Prepump is this a good solution? 200

Putting the finishing touches on my 81 Bertone, took me 10 years to finish.I had a no start and found that the hose to the prepump was gone.I 'm having the gas tank cleaned and want to replace the prepump while I have everything out.I have a new prepump from FCP that I got a while ago.I noticed that it does not have the extra rim around the center of the pump. The old one has this rim which holds the pump in place in the sending unit. Will it be ok to add a stainless hose clamp to the center of the prepump to act as the rim? What affect will the gas have on the stainless clamp?Or should I get an AC Delco prepump, these seem to have the the support rim on the pump. Thanks,
Nelson
