Just bought a 1983 242 Group A Turbo... 200

I have owned Volvos forever. I currently have a 1983 242 Group A, 1985 245 Turbo wagon, 1989 Volvo 780 Bertone and final.ly a 1992 745 turbo wagon in red that I drive daily. I have owned a few 242s but they have been to ruff in all reality. This is pretty nice, but I need to convert it to a m46, but I don't want to ruin the collectability of a rare car. Any opinions about this? Thanks, Nick.
